Susie has been involved in the Jewish Community for more than 40 years, as both a volunteer and professional.

Beginning as a young married, she volunteered for several Jewish organizations, including NCJW and the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City. In 1981, she began working for the Federation as Assistant Women's Division Director. She completed her tenure with the Federation in 1993, having served as Women's Division Director and Director of Community Planning.

After completing 13 years with the Federation, Susie assumed the role of Executive Director of the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Kansas City, where she served for almost 10 years building the Foundation's Grant Program and working with donors and Jewish Community Agencies. After retirement, Susie became a Consultant for the Planned Giving Department of the Council of Jewish Federations. In this capacity, she worked with communities on issues such as strategic planning, best practices, board training and other areas to increase their success.

After retirement, Susie joined the Boards of the Jewish Federation, Shalom Village, and the Jewish Heritage Foundation. She currently serves on the BBYO International Board in addition to the Melton Board.

Susie and her husband, Ron, also an active community volunteer, are the parents of Jeff and Jessica Goldsmith and Michelle Goldsmith...and their favorite role is grandparents to Miles and Violet Goldsmith!!!
