Directors

Judy LoeblJudy Loebl, Director FedEd and Melton, Assistant Executive Director, Detroit JCC, has been the Director of Adult Jewish Learning since 2006.  She oversees all adult educational opportunities for the Jewish Federation including the Melton School and FedEd.  Judy has taught students from pre-school through adults and was an instructor at the Midrasha College of Judaic studies specializing in Jewish literature and culture.  She directed   Congregation T'Chiyah Sunday School in Detroit; created the Grosse Pointe Jewish Community Council Sunday School; served as Principal of the Community Jewish High School and Director of Teen Education at the Agency for Jewish Education.  Prior to her current position, Judy was the Director of SAJE (Seminars for Adult Jewish Enrichment) for the JCC.  Judy holds a B.A. in English and a Master of Library Science from Wayne State University.

Shelley ChanessShelley Chaness is the Assistant Director, FedEd and Melton, at the JCC of Metro Detroit. Shelley has been working with Federation for the past 7 years. She began as a site assistant for Melton, and then took a staff position to market Melton. This year she was promoted to Assistant Director, overseeing the daily operations of both the expansive Melton program as well as the Feded classes offered.
