How To: Create a Facebook Fundraiser for Your Birthday

Although birthdays are a time for gift-giving, some find supporting charities to be a meaningful gift that inspires others within their community. If you're interested in raising funds for the Melton School through Facebook on this special day, follow these simple steps:

1. Make sure your birthday is listed on your Facebook page and be sure to like Melton School on Facebook.
2. On or near the date of your birthday, go to your home page dashboard. On the left-hand side of the page, there will be a dropdown menu. Navigate to and select the fundraiser icon.
3. You will be directed to the Facebook Fundraisers page. Under "Raise Money", then choose "Select Charity".
4. From the dropdown menu showing your causes, select "Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning" or type it into the search bar.
5. Once you've selected the Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning as your charity, enter the details of your fundraiser, such as how much money you want to raise and when the fundraiser ends.
6. The next page then lets you title your fundraiser and write a status about why you've chosen this nonprofit. 7. Finally, click the "create" button and share the fundraiser to your profile. You can invite specific friends to donate and you can donate yourself.
